The enchanting table is your gateway to the most powerful gear. Without proper bookshelf setup, only Level 8 is available. Optimized setup unlocks Level 30.
4 Obsidian + 2 Diamonds + 1 Book. Book in center, diamonds on sides, obsidian bottom row. Place near bed and storage.
15 bookshelves with 1-block gap from table. 5x5 ring with corners empty = exactly 15. No blocks between shelves and table.
Level 30 costs 3 lapis + 3 XP levels. Mine at Y=0 with Fortune III for max yield. Always keep a stack in your enchanting chest.
Enchant books, not items directly. Books can be stored, combined, and applied anytime. Use Grindstone to disenchant unwanted books.
Always enchant at Level 30. Lower-level enchantments waste lapis lazuli and give inferior results. One Level 30 enchant costs 3 lapis + 3 XP levels.
The enchanting table shows only three random options per enchantment level. Rerolling by enchanting and then disenchanting a cheap item (like a wooden hoe) reset the pool.
